            Understanding Wonde overnight synchronisation

            Understand how Wonde synchronises MIS-managed pupil, staff and class information with BoomReader overnight, and what to do when changes are not yet visible.

            This guide is for MIS-managed schools using Wonde. MIS-managed pupil, staff and class changes should be made in the school MIS and are normally synchronised to BoomReader overnight.

            Understand where school data is managed

            In a Wonde school, pupil, staff and class information is managed in the school’s MIS and synchronised to BoomReader through Wonde.

            Do not manually create, edit or remove MIS-managed pupils or staff in BoomReader.

            Make changes in the MIS

            If a pupil, member of staff or class needs updating, make the change in the school MIS rather than in BoomReader.

            BoomReader is not the management source for these records in a Wonde school.

            Allow the overnight synchronisation

            Updates are normally synchronised overnight. Do not expect a change made in the MIS to appear in BoomReader immediately.

            Check the updated information in BoomReader

            After the overnight synchronisation, check the relevant class or pupil information in the Reader application. If the expected change is still missing, follow the troubleshooting guidance below.

            Use neutral example records when documenting an issue; do not include pupil names, UPNs or other account data in support requests.

            A pupil or staff change is not visible immediately.
            Wonde updates are normally synchronised overnight. Check again after the overnight synchronisation rather than making a manual change in BoomReader.

            A pupil or member of staff is missing after the overnight synchronisation.
            Confirm that the record and its details are correct in the school MIS. Do not manually create the MIS-managed record in BoomReader.

            A class or other school information appears out of date.
            Check the relevant information in the MIS and allow the next overnight synchronisation. If it remains incorrect afterwards, raise it for review with the appropriate school or support contact.

            You are looking for pupil-management controls in the School Hub.
            The School Hub does not show manual pupil-management controls for Wonde schools because pupil and staff changes must be made in the MIS.
